Apples announce new tour dates and land two national ads

The Apples in stereo will soon find themselves on the road supporting the best-selling album of their career, New Magnetic Wonder. The album, about which Spin Magazine said, "New Magnetic Wonder couldn't be brighter if it had been performed on the sun - 4stars," has been lauded by critics and is the first CD to ever feature Robert Schneider's new "Non-Pythagorean Musical Scale." The enhanced CD is also the first to feature digital files of the scale's notes enabling fans and musicians to create music using the new scale.
NMW is the first release on actor Elijah Wood's Simian Records (marketed and distributed by Yep Roc Records).

The "Non-Pythagorean Musical Scale," created by Apples front-man Schneider and based on natural logarithms, was recently a featured discussion at the Mathematics Association of America's annual gathering, MathFest in San Jose, CA. Schneider, always energetic, had this to say about the conference:

"Going to MathFest was like summer camp at Disneyland for me! In my entire life, I've talked to three people about math. This is something I can't explain to one friend of mine. It was so amazing to have these scholars be truly interested in my mathematical ideas and thereby my music as well!"

In addition to announcing their current tour, The Apples in stereo are also pleased to announce that their songs "Energy" (from New Magnetic Wonder) and "Go" (from Discovery of the World Inside the Moone) are being used in current national ad campaigns by New Balance and Target, respectively. 2007 has also seen The Apples appear on Conan O'Brien, several National Public Radio programs and play the prestigious UK Festival All Tomorrow's Parties. In addition, Robert Schneider was asked to write and record several original songs for Disney TV.
