The Apples in Stereo reviewed on thetripwire.com
There is something to be said for consistency and The Apples in Stereo know this best. The proof here is in the release of a b-sides and rarities collection called Electronic Projects for Musicians the title of which is taken from a Craig Anderton book of the same name in which one reviewer calls "the Bible for electronic guitar effects." Spanning over the good part of a decade, the songs flow seamlessly along as any of their albums, proper save for "The Apples Theme Song" (which was recorded for the introduction to their official website) and "Stephen Stephen" (an ode to Stephen Colbert of Comedy Central's The Colbert Report a song in which they played on his show). The 60's pop song-crafting recipe that Robert Schneider and his band utilize in their proverbial kitchen (take simple chord structures and catchy-as-hell sugar coated melodies and add a pinch of head bobbing beats) is tried and true proving that even the scraps are just as toe tapping as the main course.
