If you're unfamiliar with THIS TIME NEXT YEAR, this relatively young pop punk band from northern California have been receiving rave reviews for their debut EP, A Place For You, since its release early last year. Absolutepunk.net suggested, "If you check out one pop punk release this year, make it this one," but fortunately for us, it is a new year, thus time for a new record.

The Longest Way Home offers two brand new songs, an acoustic rendition of "Sweetest Air" and a cover of the KID DYNAMITE song "3 O'Clock". The new songs carry the same straightforward and upbeat brand of punk that bands such as NEW FOUND GLORY and SAVES THE DAY perfected, while the acoustic version of "Sweetest Air" shows that although TTNY play a familiar style of music, they are not a one sided punk band.
